Hi! Thanks for stopping by the website of PowerProof Girl, known by day as Hannah Eason. I’m a full-time professional editor with extensive experience editing novels, sports-themed memoirs, self-help and psychology titles, books on parenting, books of poetry, books that have been painstakingly researched over the course of decades, and more. On this page, you can read more about my experience in editing and other realms of publishing, and check out some portfolio samples.

Whether you’re looking for a literary editor who can clarify and smooth out your story without altering narrative voice or you need an editor to go over your dissertation with a fine-toothed comb to ensure perfect APA compliance, I’m happy to assist. Contact me at editor@powerproofgirl.com to discuss your substantive editing, copyediting, or proofreading needs.

Independent Editing

Authors I’ve worked with have gone on to experience success through both traditional publishing and self-publishing channels. Several pros from various industries have positioned their books as extended business cards via already powerful platforms while others have worked with agents and acquisitions editors to see their works fully realized under prestigious publishing house banners.

Contract Editing

As an editor, I have contracts with imprints of major literary publishing houses as well as publishers dedicated to academic, scientific, how-to, and sports publishing. I’ve edited research papers and media reports for clients in Beijing, Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey. For several overseas editing services and communications firms, I’ve edited research papers and media reports for grammar and natural tone (fine-tuning idioms, etc.).

Book Reviews, Author Interviews, and More

As a book reviewer, I have worked with Publishers Weekly (PW), Kirkus Indie, and ForeWord. For PW, I also conducted author interviews and served as a judge for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. I continue to provide editing services for PW BookLife writers, and I served as a judge of this year’s BookLife Prize in Fiction. For the nonprofit Her Circle Ezine, I wrote articles, reviewed books, and conducted interviews with authors including Heidi W. Durrow (The Girl Who Fell From the Sky), Amy Greene (Bloodroot), Margaret Dilloway (How to Be an American Housewife), Elena Gorokhova (A Mountain of Crumbs), and Minrose Gwin (The Queen of Palmyra).
